Dear Colleagues,

ISO/IEC PDTR 29138-2 - "Information Technology - Accessibility Considerations for People with Disabilities - Part 2:  Standards Inventory" has now been officially released.  This is the second of three Preliminary Draft Technical Reports (PDTRs).

The INCITS Study Group on Accessibility as US TAG to JTC1 Special Working Group on Accessibility needs to develop the US vote for each of these three documents.

Review, Comment and Request for Recommendation

Each voting member of the study group is requested to review the document and provide their organization's recommendation for the US vote.  In addition, the comments template is to be used for your comments, if any.

All recommendations and comments should be returned to me (Tom Albin) by January 4, 2008.

The position options are:
Approve;
Approve with general, technical, editorial comments;
Disapprove, for reasons that are to be explained in an attached paper with recommended wording, which, if accepted, would change the U.S. vote to one of approval;
or Abstain

Development of US Vote

Study Group Meeting/Teleconference

In anticipation of a confirmed teleconference number, please plan to participate in a teleconference from 12 - 2 pm Central Standard Time, Friday January 11, 2008 to discuss each of the three documents and to develop the US vote regarding each document.  The call in number will be sent by email reflector closer to the teleconference date.

The Straw Poll closes January 4, 2008.  The JTC1 PDTR closing date is February 29, 2008.
